The city’s eastern part is a popular entertainment area in Midtown San Antonio. The northern region of “the Strip” encompasses the areas that comprise North St, Mary’s, which Mistletoe Avenue borders, and Grayson Street. It is located adjacent to Pearl Brewery and has become part of the expanding corridors of the central area of San Antonio.
It’s been described by some as “San Antonio’s first entertainment corridor,” with some drawing comparisons between this area with Austin’s Sixth Street during the heyday. The Strip was the scene of the first golden age in the 1980s and the early 1990s when an estimated 15,00 people enjoyed themselves just by going to the annual MTV block party that Daisy Fuentes hosted.
The street was recently revived due to the recent growth of millennials in the region. Bars have recently opened to complement the style of the more traditional establishments.
